Madam Monday - Who is Jasmine Cox?
I reserve Mondays to recognize jet-setting women who are making great strides in their communities. I call these features "Madam Mondays!"
Have you ever marveled at the lovely ladies hustling in the airport with their adorned neck scarves and pumps? Have you ever wondered what a career in the skies might entail? This Madam Monday features answers these questions and more.
This Monday we ask,
"Who is Jasmine Cox?"

Equality. Helping. Family.
The alarm clock could ring at 2am or 6am, it all depends on the duties that await Ms. Cox day-to-day. She scurries off to catch the shuttle to her place of employment. On her ride to work, she typically laughs at the ridiculous messages from family and friends in her group chat; gathers her thoughts; and then walks few blocks in Kew Gardens, New York to get to work.
This Virginia native, Solange Stan, and Garden Lover works as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines.
Becoming a flight attendant was something that crossed my mind but nothing I can say I dreamed about (until I went to the interview).
I enjoy change and adventure. I love talking to new faces; I love people; and I love the idea of no workday being exactly the same.
The path to becoming a cabin crew member is nothing short of lengthy and demanding. After applying online; many phone interviews; a face-to-face interview; a seven-week training; and twenty tests, Ms. Cox is proud to have graduated and earned her stewardess degree.

In her spare time, Ms. Cox enjoys cooking. Both of her grandmothers are chefs, so her palate is advanced and her skills are sharp. Working as a flight attendant, she can try out new foods, all over the world, every week.
I really enjoy alone time, so I have no problem going out, requesting a table for one, and eating like a total queen.
Ms. Cox is a big advocate for doing what makes you happy!

Ms. Cox travels around the world for a living. The woman is literally jet-setting! So keeping strong relations with family and friends is something that she keeps high on her priority list.
Technology is an amazing tool and it is how I'm sure I keep a good portion of my sanity. I have bad days as it can be a bit isolating at times. Usually a quick phone call can cure many of those blues.
While she values the support of her family, Ms. Cox recently had a very freeing epiphany.
For so long, I wanted to make them all proud, but with growth and a little bit of maturity I realized, I needed to make myself proud. In turn, everyone else will be as well.
